Update: Wheels are SOLD

I recently decided to install E30 M3 suspension and brakes on my car. Although this will give me a better setup, it will require 5-lug wheels which means that I have to sell my current BBS wheels :-(

I have only had these wheels a short time, and invested a great amount of time and money into them. Since the wheels are no longer made, they are almost impossible to find. I found someone who was selling them, then had them refinished.

The wheels are aluminum 3-piece 16x7 BBS RS (RS 003). The bolt pattern is 4x100 and the offset is et25. These wheels were made for the E30, so they fit perfectly without spacers. The rims weigh 16lbs each.

When I took the wheels in to be refinished, I found out that 3 of them were out of round. I spent about $300 having the wheels trued, plus another $600 having the centers redone in black, and the outer drums polished. When I decided I was going to have to sell them, I removed them from the car so that there was no chance of them incurring damage. The wheels are still in perfect condition, with no curb marks, dents, etc...

The center caps and large center hex bolt are aluminum, and screw on, as opposed to the plastic caps which turn slightly to lock into place. I also have the wrench for these. For some of these pics, I had the macro on my camera on. This caused the picture to look rather green...

I had new Dunlop SP Sport W10 tires in 225/45/16 put on, and they were used for less than 500 miles. The tires fit without rubbing the fenders at all, even with the car lowered with a coil-over suspension setup. Initially I was hearing a slight rubbing sound when the steering wheel was turned all the way to one side, but it turned out to be a plastic panel on the engine side of the tire, which was sticking out a bit.

The only cosmetic thing that I could have done but decided against, was replacing or refinishing the wheel bolts. There are 30 bolts per wheel, which hold the 3 sections together. I checked with BBS to see if I could purchase new ones, but due to liability reasons, they do not sell them that way. The wheels can be sent to their Georgia office, and for $50 a wheel, they will replace the bolts. The other option was to take the bolts out and have a local shop re-anodize them, but after picking the wheels up after being painted/polished, I decided this was not necessary. Although you can see some discoloration on the bolts if inspected closely, the wheels look great as is.

I have around $2400 invested in these wheels and tires, but I realize that I am not going to get that back out of them. I would like to get $1800. This would not include shipping. I am in Northern California (Bay Area) and could deliver them to areas within a few hours of here. If I do not get any reasonable offers, I will probably put them on Ebay and see how they do. If you have any questions about them, please feel free to email me with questions. Here is a pic of my car now, with stock bottlecaps (thanks to Bill Gosma!). I am hoping to have the new suspension in within a month.
